About the Principal:
Marnie is the dedicated & enthusiastic principal of The Dance Room.
From a young age Marnie had a passion & love of dance, studying various styles of dance including Jazz, Tap, Classical & Funk.
Marnie trained for 10 years at well renowned Dance Factory junior school, then later completed a Full Time Performing Arts Course and completed a DFTA Teaching Certificate with qualifications in Jazz, Tap & Funk . Taught and guided by dance teachers such as Dulcie Lee, Vicki Lee, Mark Laguerre, Barbara Warren-Smith, Sonali Versace, Chris Lamb & Karen Knorr.
Marnie has over 15 years teaching experience at various dance schools around Melbourne including Dance Factory, That Dance Place, Blackburn Dance Spot and many state & private schools.
Marnie's other credits include choreography for professional floorshows & various fashion parades, pantomimes with Warner Bros. & Conrad & Co.
With a dream to pass on her dance knowledge and skills, Marnie established The Dance Room in Brunswick in 2005, followed by Tullamarine studio in 2007 culminating in the opening of the Glenroy studio in 2008.
Annalisa Tamburro
Annalisa teaches Musical Theatre and Classical Ballet at The Dance Room.
Annalisa has trained in Jazz, Tap, Ballet and Hip Hop at various dance school around Melbourne. In 2008, Annalisa graduated from the Box Hill Institute of TAFE and received a Diploma in Dance Teaching and Management. Classes studied at TAFE included Jazz, Classical Ballet, Contemporary and Character.
Annalisa is an affiliate Member with "Australian Teachers of Dance" (ATOD) and is currently studying and training in RAD Ballet classes to obtain a teachers qualification.
Annalisa is very popular with her students, she has a kind manner and is very encouraging and patient. She uses a number of teaching strategies and methods to bring out the best in her students.
